  • Job Description

    The Tax Officer will assist the Tax Manager of our company and by monitoring the Subsidiaries compliance with government regulatory requirements such as but not limited to the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Securities and Exchange Commission, Local Government Units to limit potential regulatory risks both to our company and its subsidiaries. He or she ensure together with the Controls and Compliance Manager that our company and its SBUs properly manages regulatory risks that they face or may face. He or she assists in providing in-house compliance service and advisory that effectively supports us and its Subsidiaries in business areas in their duty to comply with relevant laws and regulations and internal policies of the group.

    <DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES>
    • Monitors the company and its subsidiaries filing and payment of taxes including annual registrations.
    • Assists our company's annual Audited Financial Statements
    • Monitors the company’s and its subsidiaries’ annual renewal of business and other permits.
    • Reviews of BIR tax returns of the company and its subsidiaries to determine proper compliance and effect corrections if needed, in coordination with the subsidiaries Compliance Department.
    Identifies potential tax exposures & recommend corrective actions.
    • Assists Controls and Compliance Manager in answering tax queries of subsidiaries – may require research and consultation from tax consultant.
    • Submits corporate documents to Securities and Exchange Commission for the company and its
    subsidiaries.
    • Assists in filing of monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual BIR reports of the company
    • Assists during BIR examinations for the company and its subsidiaries.
    • Assists in conduct tax clinics for the company and its subsidiaries for existing and new BIR regulatory issuances. Back to basics on taxation.
    • Assists during annual audit (external auditor)
    • Maintains financial files, records and reports
    • Works on projects assigned by Management or by the Board of Directors, e.g. due diligence.

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    <MUST>
    • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required
    • Candidate must have at least 2 to 3 years work exposure taxation and other regulatory compliance, e.g. SEC and LGU from the Big Four Auditing Firms in the Philippines
    • Must be familiar with Philippine Tax Laws and BIR regulations
    • Must be proficient in Windows Microsoft application.
    • Must be a critical but logical thinker
    • Must be highly analytical and good attention to details
    • Must be very good inter-personal and intra-personal skills.
    • Must be very good writing and verbal communication.
    • Ability to write reports and present results to management
