Job Description
I. JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
Shall be responsible for monitoring and/or advising on all legal matters, contracts, and agreements. The Legal Officer shall also ensure the company complies with the statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines as observed in the manufacturing industry.
Legal Management
1. Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
2. Draft a wide variety of legal agreements
3. Provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters
4. Provide internal advisory services to the business units and departments within the Company
5. Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions
6. Ensure the development of service level agreements for service support and delivery
7. Monitor the maintenance of the registers and other records required to be maintained by the Company
8. Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, procedures
9. Analyze and review legal agreements, legislation and documents
10. Review and advice management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures
11. Ensure (internal & external) compliance with laid down guidelines, policies and procedures; investigate issues of non-compliance as may be required
12. Provide advice and guidance to management as needed during labor relations contract negotiations, including drafting proposals and facilitating meetings with union representatives
13. Oversee collective bargaining procedures, including drafting, reviewing and modifying proposals, verifying legal contract terminology and suggesting additional rules and regulations as necessary
Administrative Tasks
1. Communicate with internal stakeholders, gathering necessary documents and information in building and settling legal issues within the department.
2. Conduct all initial research and draft legal narrative reports
3. Review of Various Contracts
4. Facilitate notarization of documents
5. Oversee various clerical tasks, including making copies, sending emails and maintaining appointment schedules
Qualifications
Requirement
Minimum Education: Juris Doctor Degree
Experience Required
-At least 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources specializing in Labor Relations/Legal
Training/Seminars Required
- Training and/or seminar related to Development and Implementation of HR Policies, Employee Relations, Philippine Labor Laws, or any related topics are an advantage
Required Professional Certification or Licensure
-Preferably a Bar Exam Passer, Leadership and Industry certifications are also an advantage
Technical Competencies
1. Thorough understanding of the Philippine labor law, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations.
2. Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
3. Excellent conflict resolution skills
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
