Job Description
Leads the identification, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide risk.
Manages insurance procurement, develops and implements risk management and compliance policies/procedures, and manages claims and litigation.
Manages relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
Evaluates and provides recommendations regarding selection of policies, including but not limited to: Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Directors and Officers, and Cyber-risk policies.
Inspects campus facilities for compliance with environmental health and safety regulations; advises users of the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Defines scope of work for potential contracts for building demolition or renovation and other chemically contaminated property including sampling, testing, removal, decontamination, and disposal.
Coordinates special waste disposal projects including the handling of toxic gases, infectious materials, asbestos, PCBs, hazardous chemicals and mixed waste, including radioactive materials.
Develops and conducts new employee training programs in the areas of infectious wastes, hazard communication, asbestos, poly-chlorinated biphenyls, and other hazardous substances.
Advises management on potential hazardous materials and makes recommendations as required.
Maintains records such as hazardous and non-hazardous waste manifests and associated documents.
Responds to hazardous materials spills such as oil, acid, and mercury; implements clean-up plan.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirement

-Bachelor's degree
-at least 1 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
-Knowledge of transport and disposal procedures for safe handling of hazardous chemicals and/or radioactive materials.
-Knowledge of transport and disposal procedures for safe handling of toxic gases, infectious materials, asbestos, PCBs, and other hazardous substances.
-Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
-Knowledge of chemical, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental health standards.
